Building The Cronies: A Family Adventure

If you’ve been following The Cronies in our first few weeks, you’ll know it’s been a busy journey.

What started as an idea to help people discover local events, businesses, discounts, and hidden gems across Canterbury has quickly grown into something much bigger. Behind the scenes, there have been countless late nights, early mornings, problem-solving sessions, and more cups of tea than I care to admit!

Building The Cronies

Building The Cronies has been a real labour of love, and we’re not done yet! Like any new project, there have been challenges along the way, but seeing more people discover what we’re creating makes every hour worthwhile.

I’ve been incredibly lucky to have a very supportive family who have put up with my endless conversations about websites, maps, events, memberships, and all things Cronies. Their encouragement has helped keep me going through the long days and even longer nights.

In fact, one member of the family has become one of The Cronies’ biggest fans – my son.

He’s been watching the project grow from the sidelines and wanted to do his bit to help spread the word. So, he decided to create his own Cronies-inspired design to help get the name out there and show his support.

Seeing his excitement and enthusiasm for what we’re building has been one of the most rewarding parts of this whole journey. It serves as a great reminder of why community projects matter and how much encouragement can come from the people closest to us.

Spread the word

So, if you enjoy what we’re doing at The Cronies, and if you think a young designer’s support deserves a bit of recognition, I’d love it if you could give us a like, leave a comment, or follow along as we continue to grow.Because honestly, if that doesn’t deserve a like, comment, or follow… I don’t know what does!
